For the second straight day, the Monmouth-Roseville soccer team blanked a Three Rivers Athletic Conference opponent on the road, posting a 2-0 victory over De Pue/Hall September 24.
The Titans finally broke through with 11 minutes remaining in the first half off a corner kick. The D/H goalie got his hand on M-R’s initial cross, knocking it to the edge of the penalty box, but it found the feet of Francisco Tomas Francisco, who fired it into the back of the net for a 1-0 lead.
Eleven minutes into the second half, M-R doubled its lead when Kevin Vazquez pounced on a free ball in the box, scoring from six yards out.
The Titans created a half-dozen more quality scoring chances the remainder of the way, outshooting their hosts 19-3 in the process, but they couldn’t extend their lead.
Now 2-0 in the TRAC, M-R improved to 7-5-4 with their fifth straight unbeaten game.
