Boys Soccer: Monmouth-Roseville 5 JV at Princeton

Monmouth-Roseville’s junior varsity boys soccer team concluded its season October 12 at the Princeton JV Soccer Invitational.

The Titans entered the tournament with three straight shutouts, and they had two more in their first two games, battling Sterling and Mendota to 0-0 ties. M-R fell short in the deciding penalty kick shootouts in both games, falling 5-4 and 4-3.

In their tourney finale, M-R topped Princeton 4-2. Yahir Serna assisted the first two goals then made the game-winning penalty kick with 2:45 to play. Sebastian Aguilera Perez scored a counterattack goal in the final seconds to seal the win. Aguilera-Perez had the Titans’ first goal and Richard Herrera netted the other.

M-R finished with a record of 7-8-3, outscoring their final six opponents 10-2.
