Bridgeway’s West Central Illinois ROSC is hosting a movie night at The Orpheum Theatre, 57 S. Kellogg Street in Galesburg, on Saturday, July 22 nd at 6:00pm. The movie they are showing is called “Generation Found,” a powerful story about one community coming together to ignite a youth addiction recovery revolution in their hometown.
After conducting their community needs assessment earlier this year, Bridgeway’s West Central
Illinois ROSC (Recovery-Oriented System of Care) found a common theme from the community: youth struggling with substance use disorder and the need for resources to help them.
The goal in showing Generation Found is to bring awareness and hope surrounding adolescent
substance use in our area. In addition to showing the movie, there will be a panel of individuals
who have experienced substance use disorder in adolescence afterwards. They will be speaking
on their experience and they will answer any questions the community may have.
This event is free and for any community member interested in the topic of youth/adolescent
substance use. There will be a variety of resources available at the event from local agencies that
enhance the daily living of teens and youth.
“It is time we come together as a community and start having these difficult conversations. I am
certain that when communities come together in this fashion, resources, solutions and great ideas arise” says Leann Courson, West Central Illinois ROSC System of Care Coordinator.
