Today the United Way of Knox County Board of Directors is announcing the departure of
Executive Director, Laun Dunn. Dunn joined the United Way of Knox County as Executive
Director in 2017. In her time in the role, Dunn oversaw the implementation of the
organization’s children’s food program, Unmet Needs program, and their move from the Bondi
Building to their new home on Monmouth Boulevard among other accomplishments.
UWKC Board President, Carol Hagan said on behalf of the board, “We are grateful for the
dedication that Laun has shown the United Way of Knox County over the past five years. The
organization has flourished under her supervision with the addition of several vital programs
for Knox County along with the consistent growth of pre-existing programs and partnerships
throughout our community. We thank Laun for all of her contributions to our organization.”
MILLER PROMOTED TO EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF UNITED WAY OF KNOX COUNTY
With Dunn’s departure, United Way of Knox County is excited to announce that Hayleigh Miller
will be promoted to Executive Director. Miller has been with the organization for over two
years in the Director of Marketing and Communications role.
In the time that Miller has been with United Way of Knox County, she has expanded the
organization’s reach through her marketing endeavors and has built countless bonds
throughout the community. She has also worked to create new opportunities for Knox County
residents through projects such as the Born Learning Trails.
Hagan said, “Hayleigh Miller, Director of Marketing and Communications, possess the
knowledge and compassion necessary to continue to grow our organization. In her time with
us, she has proven that she has the skills to excel as our Executive Director.”
Miller is a lifelong Knox County resident who graduated from Galesburg High School in 2014
and possesses a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with focuses in Marketing and
Management from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. Outside of her work at UWKC,
Miller is a very active member of our community. She serves as the secretary for Galesburg’s
Kiwanis Club as well as the Kiwanis Shopping Chairman. She also serves as the Events Chair for
the Galesburg Area Chamber of Commerce’s Young Professional Network.
Hayleigh Miller will assume the position of Executive Director effective October 24, 2022.
