Western Illinois University Building Services Supervisor Kirk Hare has been named the Superintendent of Building Services in Facilities Management (FM).
Hare was hired in 2008 as a Building Services employee and promoted to supervisor in 2010; he was named deputy director in 2021. Before WIU, Hare worked at the Western Distributing Company as an account representative.
“I am honored to complete my WIU Career in the Building Services Department in the role of Superintendent. I look forward to working with the talented Management Team and FM leadership to continue moving the department forward,” Hare said.
The Superintendent of Building Services oversees all aspects of Building Services across the entire WIU-Macomb campus, including budget preparation and review, equipment procurement, scheduling, communication with various campus entities, personnel oversight and discipline, bargaining unit contract negotiation and communications, etc. This position directly supervises the assistant superintendent of Building Services and the Building Services supervisors.
