The Prairie Fire track and field teams competed in the final day of the Midwest Conference Championships on Saturday.
The Knox men climbed the rankings to finish fifth overall and the women finished eighth.
Tyrell Pierce once again took Outstanding Track Performer for his wins in the men's 200m (21.49) and 400m (47.56). His 200m time is a new Knox record.
Derrick Jackson (10.89), Jonathan Bailey (11.00), and Trevor Geggie (11.49) took second, third, and seventh, respectively, in the men's 100m.
Jacob Anderson placed second in the men's 400m hurdles finals with a time of 56.45.
Lance Miller Yates earned second place in the men's 3000m steeplechase with a time of 9:48.04.
The men's 4x100m relay team of Bailey, Pierce, Geggie, and Jackson finished second in a time of 41.78.
Kendall Ballman placed fifth in the men's triple jump with a leap of 13.11m.
Peyton Balfour earned second place in the women's triple jump (10.63m).
Allie Dockins finished fifth in the women's 100m finals with a time of 13.11.
"Today was a great team performance. We had several athletes scoring points in several event areas," said head coach Evander Wells. "We had lots of PR's in a championship environment. As a coach, you can't ask for more than that."
