The Orpheum Theatre in Downtown Galesburg is thrilled to announce the next show as part of
the Summer FUN-raiser Series! On August 24th at 7:30 p.m. Central Illinois radio personality and
comedian GREG BATTON with take the stage with Life. In Boxes. and in doing so will give the
audience an opportunity to enjoy this any age appropriate show, and support The Orpheum
Theatre at the same time!
Greg Batton has lived a very interesting life as a radio talk show personality on WLS, WGN,
and for the last 18 years in Peoria, IL on WMBD, a standup comedian, a storyteller, a dad, a
husband. He is also a guy who has spent his life sticking things in boxes and putting them away
on shelves. In his original one man show we get a chance to open some of those boxes and
learn about life told through the memories we store away for safe keeping!
Sure, Life. In Boxes. is a comedic night about Greg's life and HIS boxes, but the show is so
much more than that. Through Greg's sometimes humorous, sometimes touching memories and
the stories that weave a tapestry of who Greg is and how he got that way - we begin to think
about our lives and what is (or maybe should be) in our boxes.
The audience leaves with more than an enjoyable evening of belly laughs and emotional tears,
they’ll walk out of the beautiful Orpheum Theatre, the “Jewel of Galesburg” having supported
the theatre for future programming and with a newfound motivation to break open some of their
own “boxes”, and through them reopen the door to the experiences and moments that define -
THEIR LIFE. IN BOXES!
In lieu of an admission, the cost to attend is a $25 per person minimum donation for orchestra
and balcony reserved seating. Advance purchase highly recommended. Tickets available at
www.galesburgorpheum.org, or by calling (309)-342-2299. The Orpheum Theatre is located at
