May COVID Vaccine Clinic

Updated: Jul 5, 2021

Knox County, IL – It’s Your Turn to Get Vaccinated! The Knox County Unified Command to host a multi-day COVID vaccine clinic at the Unified Command Vaccine Center to help protect not only our Knox County Residents, but also surrounding County’s residents against COVID-19.

“Getting thousands of residents vaccinated in a matter of days is a huge undertaking that would not be possible without the medial and logistical support of Galesburg Cottage Hospital, GHAS, Knox County EMA, Knox County Health Department and OSF HealthCare St. Mary Medical Center,” states Michele Gabriel, Public Health Administrator. “We are incredibly grateful for their partnership and looking forward to administering more than 4,300 vaccines over these four days.

The clinics will provide the multidose Moderna vaccine and will be held on the following days:

Saturday, May 1st from 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Sunday, May 2nd from 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Monday, May 3rd from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Tuesday, May 4th from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

“The significant availability of vaccines will help save lives and make it possible for us to return to the activities we all enjoy and have missed doing in the past year,” states Gabriel.

Because the clinics will offer only the Moderna vaccine, only residents age 18 and older are eligible to be vaccinated. Registration is preferred, but walk-ins will be accepted upon the availability of vaccine. Links for the online registration are available at www.knoxcountyhealth.org and the Knox County Health Department & Knox Community Health Center Facebook page.

Until almost everyone is vaccinated, we must continue basic public health infection controls:

Stay home as much as possible and especially when ill

Wear a face covering when you are in public

Keep at least 6 feet between you and anyone else in public

Wash your hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds or use hand sanitizer.

The Unified Command Vaccine Center is located at 1150 W. Carl Sandburg Dr., Galesburg, IL (former Bergner’s Building south entrance). All individuals are asked to wear a mask.
