Men's Soccer Wins in Indiana on Saturday

The Monmouth College men's soccer team scored in the second half to beat Bluffton 1-0 in a neutral-site game on Saturday. The Scots (2-1) are off to their best start since kicking off the 2019 season at 4-1.

"The guys worked hard for 90 minutes today," said head coach Ian Hatleli. "We gave some guys opportunity today and they took it in stride. Proud of the grit we showed today getting the result we wanted without playing our best"

The game was scoreless until the 64th minute. Logan Corgan (Geneseo, Illinois) scored his first goal of the season, assisted by Kristofer Ruiz-Camarena (El Paso, Texas), to give the Scots the lead. Neither team scored the rest of the way as Monmouth secured their second straight win.

Luis Villa (El Paso, Texas) and Alejandro Zamarripa (El Paso, Texas) split time in goal for the third straight game. Zamarripa made six saves and Villa did not face a shot on goal as the duo combined for a shutout..

"These are the games we will need to win once conference starts so hopefully we can lean on this result down the stretch," said Hatleli.
