Knox County, IL – The Knox County Unified Command has scheduled a first dose Pfizer COVID-19 vaccination clinic for children ages 5 through 11 on Saturday, November 13, 2021, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m. at the Knox County Unified Command Vaccine Center (former Bergner’s location) located at 1150 W. Carl Sandburg Dr. Galesburg, IL 61401.
The Pfizer vaccine for children ages 5 through 11 years is a smaller dose of vaccine (10µg), 1/3 of the vaccine dose for individuals 12 years and older (30µg). The Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine is administered as a series of two doses, 3 weeks apart, for all eligible individuals. Individuals under the age of 18 are required to be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian, and the parent or legal guardian must sign a consent before the vaccine can be administered.
