The Western Illinois University Chapter of Phi Beta Delta will host its annual scholarship dinner themed “A Taste of India” at 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, at the Campus Student for Christ house, 1545 Riverview Drive, Macomb, IL.
In addition to an authentic Indian dinner, the fundraiser will feature a presentation of Indian culture, Indian entertainment and a marketplace of international items. The proceeds from the fundraiser will be used to fund two scholarships for students pursuing their education in another country.
Tickets can be purchased in advance for $12 for adults and $7 for students by emailing pbd@wiu.edu. Tickets at the door are $15 for adults and $10 for students. All tickets for children ages 6-12 are $5, and children ages 5 and under will be admitted free. The event is open to the entire community.
Phi Beta Delta is an international honorary society for those interested in international education, with over 200 chapters in the United States and other countries. In addition to funding scholarships, the society hosts Culture Night activities each fall and spring for incoming students, a Fall Fun activity at Horn Lodge for international students and other events.
