Piecemakers Quilt Guild of Galesburg, Illinois is proud to announce their 2022 Quilt Show “ Quilts Across America”, to be held Saturday, August 6 and Sunday, August 7 2022 at the Knox County YMCA on Carl Sandburg Drive. The hours of the show will be 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. on Sunday.
The Guild had to cancel their 2020 show due to Covid-19.
The Guild will be presenting over 200 quilts, big and small, previous winners, our challenges of 2020 and 2022.
There will be a display of a handmade quilt depicting the life of Abraham Lincoln.
This quilt will be presented to the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library after the quilt show. There will be a visit by Abe himself to check it out. A Lincoln presenter will be at the show for conversation and photos.
The Quilt Show will have vendors, along with raffle baskets and a Quilters Market of new and used items. There will also be quilts and quilted items for sale.
There will be an opportunity to purchase raffle tickets for a queen size quilt that was designed, pieced and quilted by guild members, Judy Rutledge and Amy Roth.
The drawing will be Sunday August 7 at 2 p.m. The winner does not need to be present.
Admission to the show is $5.00.
The Piecemakers Quilt Guild was started in 1998 for quilters of all skill levels from Galesburg and surrounding area. They currently have over 60 members. They meet 7 p.m., the 3rd Thursday of the month, except in December, at the Faith United Methodist Church, 876 E Knox St Galesburg.
Their meetings consist of informative quilting instructions, tips, lectures, or demonstrations by members or guest speakers. Plus they do show and tell of their quilts.
