The Monmouth College cross country teams both finished in sixth place the Midwest Conference Championships on November 2 in Appleton, Wisconsin. Senior WIlliam Plumley (Geneseo, Illinois) earned Monmouth's first All-Conference selection since 2021 with a 14th place finish in 26:14.11
Plumley's finish was the best since Riley Dulin took fourth place in 2021. His time is the ninth best ever for a Monmouth runner at the MWC Championships and the best since current head coach Cooper Pauley ran 25:57.5 in 2017.
Xander Stoub (Palos Heights, Illinois) was next for the men, finishing in 30th place in a PR of 27:04.62. Eli Newton (Dallas City, Illinois) also set a new PR at 27:09.34, finishing 32nd. Fernando Avila Rubio (Alpha, Illinois) finished 75th in 29:31.66 and Nico Wiedman (Henry, Illinois) finished 106th with a PR time of 32:45.8.
Samantha Costello (Morris, Illinois) led the women with a 32nd place finish with a new PR of 24:45.13 for the 6K course. Melissa Bivolarov (Arlington Heights, Illinois) took nearly a minute off her PR with a 36th place finish in 25:00.80. Danielle Johnson (Annawan, Illinois) took more than 90 seconds off her PR with a time of 26:33.53, finishing 62. Paige Luntsford (Cairo, Missouri) was 75th in 27:33.34, a new PR by 20 seconds. Kaeley Kent (Springfield, Illinois) also took nearly a minute off her PR with a time of 29:05.44 to finish 87th. Zoey Johnson (Monmouth, Illinois) was 89th with a time of 29:12.58, a new PR by one second.
The Scots the week off before competing at the NCAA Midwest Regionals in Rock Island, Illinois on Saturday, Nov. 16.
