Prairie Fire Men's Basketball Dropped Midwest Conference Game

GRINNELL, Iowa - The Prairie Fire men's basketball team dropped a Midwest Conference game 116-61 at Grinnell on Wednesday night.

Sean Gallery got Knox off to a good start with a layup in the first minute of the game. However, the Pioneers went on a 19-2 run to take the early lead. The Prairie Fire hung around for most of the first half, but Grinnell pulled away by 21 with 6:16 left in the first half. The Pioneers led 58-24 heading into halftime.

Grinnell hit a three pointer to start the second half, but Knox then went on an 8-0 run. The Pioneers began pulling away from there again and cruised to victory.

Jordan Rayner led the Prairie Fire with 19 points on a 14-for-14 showing from the charity stripe. Cade Windham went 4-for-4 from the field to tally eight points. He also grabbed seven rebounds.

"We didn't shoot well at all tonight," said head coach Ben Davis. "Jordan was impressive with his free throws, but other than that we did not execute in any facet of the game."

Knox returns to action as they travel to rival Monmouth on January 29.
