As a result of continuous company growth, Sitka Salmon Shares has expanded its footprint
in Galesburg, Illinois. The company recently executed a lease for a distribution facility at
1861 S. Henderson St. in Southwest Galesburg. The facility adds more space in Galesburg
for packaging and distribution of the company’s wild-caught Alaska seafood.
“We are excited to be able to expand in Galesburg which has been the core of our business
since we started over a decade ago. This new facility adds capacity to our existing footprint
and will help the company serve our customers around the Midwest and continental US,”
Dara Chapman, Chief Operating Officer of Sitka Salmon Shares.
The expansion comes as part of the company’s overall expansion in Galesburg over the last
year, which includes 50 new full-time and seasonal positions this year. Operations in the
new facility will begin in a limited capacity in June. The company is currently hiring for the
position of Customer Service Associate and those interested in applying can find job
postings at https://jobs.lever.co/sitkasalmonshares.
“Sitka Salmon is an amazing success story for our community. We are delighted to see the
company expand and to continue to create jobs in our region,” Ken Springer, President of
the Knox County Area Partnership for Economic Development.
