WIU Summer Percussion Orchestra to Perform July 7

The WIU Summer Percussion Orchestra is a new endeavor from the Western Illinois University Percussion Studies program.


Coming from all across the United States, more than 20 alumni and current students will gather for a concert on Sunday, July 7, in the College of Fine Arts and Communication (COFAC) Recital Hall.


The stage will be filled with marimbas, xylophones, vibraphones, timpani and numerous other percussion instruments. Featured composers include Antonín Dvořák, Richard Wagner, John Philip Sousa and Felix Mendelssohn.


The performance begins at 2 p.m. and admission is open free to the public. For additional information, contact Kevin Nichols at ka-nichols1@wiu.edu.
